As you continue to scroll I will walk you through the process of working with me and how we choose the perfect stone and design to fit your ideal piece. STEP 1: THE END PRODUCT
We will start by talking about your vision. What is your goal for this piece, are you making a family heirloom, are you commemorating an event, or it could be a "just because" gift. We will come up with an idea of the finished piece you want together.

STEP 2: SELECT A ROUGH GEMSTONE
You may know what you are looking for or may not. Either way I am here to help! I'll work with you to find something I have in stock or I can source it. The selection of rough is an art in itself. Each piece has its own hidden secrets that need to be explored before a design can be chosen. This is often the most fun part because it's like discovering an easter egg in your favorite game! I can share this process with you as in depth as you'd like, we can even set up a video call and I can show you in real time what I'm seeing!

STEP 3: SELECT A SHAPE AND DESIGN
Each design is one of a kind and I make many of them based off games, books, movies, and nature. I'm a bit of a nerd. This process is as important as selecting the rough itself. Each gemstone reflects light different and certain cuts may not show off the fire as well as others. This is where I can create a new design specific for your rough piece or adjust an existing design to ensure it sparkles to its fullest. It can be difficult to envision what the final product will look like, but I can create a rendering to show you roughly how it will turn out.
STEP 4: INVOICE
Once we have decided on what is being created the first part of the invoice will be sent to you via paypal. This first part will be a non-refundable down payment to reserve time and material for your custom gemstone. The rest of the invoice will be payable upon completion.

STEP 5: I CUT YOUR STONE BY HAND
At this point we are ready to begin work! I will look over the rough mineral once more to align it as perfect as possible for cutting. This involves heating the stone, applying schlek to hold the stone on the dop, then grinding each individual facet at least 3 separate times to ensure it has a beautiful mirror finish. With over a decade of experience faceting and nearly a decade of being a goldsmith I take great pride in my work and am transparent when it comes to speaking with you. I enjoy cutting many of my gems live as it allows me to share my passion with others. You are welcome to join me while I do it too!
